 Introduction

S.S College, a leading College of the nation, is an educational shrine situated in a peaceful environment at College Marg, Madhyapur Thimi, Bhaktapur. Established by a group of visionary educationists (Managed and Run by Innovative Educational World) in 2063 B.S., Sunshine Higher Secondary School has become a unique and innovative educational institute within the short span of time. It has Innovative Sunshine College as its expansion of Bachelor Level Programmes of Tribhuwan University.

                The prime concern of SS is to impact decent quality education. With skilled, professional  and passionate guidance and management, it has been moving forward to foster students' hidden talents and potentiality with due understanding and vision to face the challenges of the twenty first century. Thus, it has been a platform for young and energetic knowledge seekers who want to create career according to their interests and attitudes. Along with four streams in 10+2 (Education, Humanitites, Management, Science) affiliated to HSEB, University programs BBS, BA and BSW affiliated to TU have been launched.

SS Higher Secondary School offers +2 programmes under the four streams; Education, Humanities, Management and Science, affiliated to Higher Secondary Education Board of Nepal.

Eligibility: SLC or an equivalent.

BBS (T.U.)

The objective of the BBS program is to prepare competent human resource in the corporate world of competition and globalization. This program is based on the principle that graduates are expected to have an outstanding personality in a constantly changing business environment. It also enables the students to gain an understanding of the issues of motivation, leadership, job design, and organizational structure.

Eligibility: +2 in management or an equivalent

BA/BSW (T.U.)

                The main objectives of the BA/BSW program is to produce trained and specialized human resource in both basic and applied area of Humanities and Social Sciences. It is an attempt to generate skills to serve the society and enrich necessary ethics and values.

Major Subjects: Social Work, Major English and Journalism

Eligibility: +2 in any discipline

Teaching Methodologies

SS adopts innovative and advanced teaching learning methodologies. Teaching learning activities are conducted by a larger number of qualified and experienced teaching faculties supported by visiting experts. Teaching is fully student-centred. Students are encouraged to have active participation in the group discussion, project works and excursions. Information is imparted in the classroom using modern technology like multimedia as far as possible. In addition to a career focus, the education students receive at SS is designed to last a lifetime as they gain perspective and depth through curriculum of Humanities and Social work.

COLLEGE UNIFORM

It is mandatory for all students to be dressed in the prescribed college uniform.

PUNCTUALITY AND REGULARITY

All the students are required to be regular and need to participate in all the prescribed teaching learning activities as well as extra co-curricular activities. Minimum 90% attendance of total teaching hours is essential to appear the Board Examination. Bunking of the class is strictly prohibited. Regarding the punctuality, students of the morning shift enter in the college premises before 6:15 and the students of day shift before 10:40am.

DISCIPLINE

Students at SS are required to maintain the highest degree of discipline both inside and outside the college premises. It is mandatory to all students to obey the disciplinary rules of the college.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

All the eligible candidates who are ready to contribute full time to their studies can fill up the form. In addition to this, SS has its own standardised testing system for the process of new admission. The written tests followed by group discussions and interviews are the integral requirements for admission. We also require the consent from our valued parents/guardians to proceed to admission processes of their respective candidates.

Assignments And Evaluation

In course of enhancing the students' academic capacity through constant monitoring, SS regularly conducts various assignments and examinations according to academic schedule. Students are required to complete the assignments/projects as assigned by the respective teachers within the given time frame. Students who are unable to submit their notes all the assignments in specific time will not be allowed to appear in the board examination.

Examinations

SS regularly conducts unit tests, two terminal examinations and a pre-board examination according to academic schedule. Students need to pass all the internal examinations even by attending re-examinations in case of failure. Toppers are awarded with attractive prizes.

It was a breath-taking experience doing my +2 from SS College and I was striving to find a good college for my bachelor's study. I was so perplexed about finding a best suiting college for me. But after a great deal of research, I found the same SS College to be my best destination. It's sound academic foundation consolidated me to pursue higher studies over here. I believe SS College has become a launch pad to attain my dream. I'm greatly fascinated by the college's pragmatic approach of merging vocational and practical knowledge with theoretical knowledge which is after all helping us thrive in our career.
